About Us

Data Mortgage Inc., dba Essex Mortgage, was founded in 1986 on the basis of education, and that has been the cornerstone of our success throughout our history.  Roland Weedon, our president and company founder, was a teacher in England before moving to the states to start a family.  When he came to the states, he began a new career in the mortgage industry, but did not lose sight of his teaching roots.

 

Helping to educate borrowers on their financial options, in lieu of telling them what to do, has helped foster positive and long lasting relationships, and this emphasis on education is practiced by all members of the Essex family.

 

On top of education, family is a key component to our success.  Whether it be our borrowers, our referral partners, or our employees, we strive to make everyone feel like family.  This is evident in the incredible loyalty we receive with some of our employees who have been with us  for more than 20 years!
